Bangkok: Police Storm Temple After Shooting at Funeral

During funeral services in Bangkok's temple, a shooting occurred resulting in one death. Police used force to disperse the attacker, who then committed suicide. According to Thaiger and Thai PBS World, on July 17, there was a shooting at the funeral service in Bang Kapit district of Bangkok. One person died and two were injured in the incident. The police were called to the scene and began storming the temple to apprehend the attacker. As per information from Thairath English, the police arrived at Khu Bon 27 area around 14:00 local time. After a prolonged negotiation with the suspect, he opened fire and was wounded. Police used force to disperse the attacker, who then committed suicide. This event took place amid other activities in Bangkok, such as the Hiroshi Nagai's Summer Dreaming exhibition, which brought City Pop art into the city. However, this incident became the main news event of the day. The police recommend citizens to be cautious and follow official safety announcements at temples and other public places.
