Patthai: Police freed three Indians kidnapped by scammers

Patthaya: Police freed three Indian men from a gang of fraudsters who had lured them to Patthaya with an inexpensive tour package and were holding them for ransom for a week. According to various sources, the three Indians were kidnapped by a group of four Pakistanis and one Indian. The fraudsters promised them a cheap tour package but instead they ended up being held for ransom in the amount of 69 million rupees. Reports state that the three abducted individuals were arrested by police after the gang attempted to hand over the required sum. As a result, five suspects were apprehended. During the investigation, it was discovered that the fraudsters had organized fake tours for the Indians with the aim of kidnapping and ransoming them. The kidnappers held their victims in a house on the outskirts of Patthaya, where they suffered physical and psychological abuse. Police carried out an operation to free the abducted individuals on November 15. As a result of the rescue mission, the three Indians were rescued from the home where they had been held by the fraudsters. The suspects were also arrested and are under investigation. This is not the first such incident in Patthaya. Last year, police also uncovered several cases of Indian kidnapping for ransom, leading to increased security measures and intensified control over the region's tourism industry.
